Note: These features are currently only available in the iOS app.
You can protect your notes from unauthorized access with a passcode and Touch ID. Open SnipNotes and tap on the cogwheel icon in the lower right corner to open the settings menu. Select the items “Main App” => “Passcode / Touch ID” and turn on the switch named “Enable passcode / Touch ID”. Enter your desired passcode twice. Afterwards, you can choose between two modes:
- Request passcode on every launch: Use this mode to protect all your notes. Your passcode will be requested on every launch of the app and when it returns from the background.
- Request passcode only for certain categories: Use this mode if only some of your notes contain sensitive information. You can select for each category individually if the passcode should be requested. Follow the onscreen instructions.
Devices with a Touch ID sensor will prompt you to use your finger for authentication. Tap on “Cancel” to use your passcode instead.
If you forgot your passcode you can authenticate with your fingerprint and disable the passcode. On older devices without Touch ID, you have to delete and reinstall the app to reset the passcode.
